Get started with Registry¶
To make your data available via the Registry, you need a user account and must be logged in to EntryScape Registry. Make sure that the harvesting source with metadata you want to be harvested is public and externally accessible for harvesting. Then you can register your harvesting source.
Check if your organization is pre-registered¶
Start by checking if your organization and harvesting source are already pre-registered so that you don't accidentally add an extra copy of your organization to Registry. You can see this by clicking on Status Report, then Reports. There, you can search using the search box or browse the list of organizations below.
If you find your organization in the list, click on it. Next, click on "Information" to see which email address the organization is registered to and the URL for the harvesting source.
If the email address is correct, return to the Registry home page by clicking the logo in the top left. Then, click Sign in and request a password reset to access the account (unless you have the password already of course). If you cannot find your organization, you can create a new user account instead.
Change harvesting source¶
If you want to change harvesting source or other details about your organization, sign in to EntryScape Registry. Go to Organizations and choose your organization. Click on Information and then you can click the Edit button to edit the harvesting source URL.

Publish your metadata¶
Before your metadata can be harvested, you have to ensure that the catalog or project containing your metadata is publicly available. Also, your metadata (datasets, entities or corresponding) in the catalog or project must also be published and externally availble for harvest.
Sign in to EntryScape Catalog or EntryScape Workbench where you have your metadata. Use the publication button to publish your catalog in Catalog or corresponding project in Workbench.
Remember that you must also publish your entities in the project or publish your datasets in the catalog. If there is a button for activating external harvests for your datasets in the catalog, you must switch it to Active to make the dataset available for harvest.
Register your harvesting source¶
Sign in to EntryScape Registry. Go to Organizations and click on Create. Enter a title, description and URL to a harvesting source. For more detailed instructions, click here.
When you are done, the organization with it's harvesting details are saved in Registry and your metadata will be harvested automatically, but it may take a little while until the provided web address is checked and data has been harvested.
