Groups¶
With the group management in EntryScape Admin, you can create and delete groups, add and remove members from groups, and set their authorization level (regular member or group manager). There are both groups of users that belong to a specific catalog, terminology, model, or project, as well as administrative groups that are not necessarily linked to a specific catalog or similar. A user can be a member of several groups and have different permissions in different groups.
Create group¶
To create a new group, click the “Create” button. You will then be asked to enter a display name for the group.
In specific situations where you want to be able to specify particular identifiers in, for example, configuration files, you can add an identifying group name and a post ID to the group. To do this, click on “Advanced settings” and fill in the Group name and Entry ID for the group. Please note that you cannot change an Entry ID retrospectively.
If you click on the group name, you will be taken to the group overview page, where you can manage the group through its button menu. The functions of the buttons are described below.
Edit group¶
If you click on a group and then the “Edit” button, you can change the group's display name and add a website address to the group.
Revisions¶
If you want to see the revision history for a group, click the “Revisions” button. There you can see the dates of previous versions of the group's information and restore previous versions.
Manage members¶
To manage members in a group, click on the “Members” button. There you can add users via the “Add user to group” button and remove members from the group via the three-dot menu and the “Remove” option.
Change permissions¶
You can also change the permissions for members of the group using the permission icons to the left of their names. There, you can choose whether a member should be a manager or a regular member. Group managers can add and remove members from the group, as well as change their permissions.
Remove group¶
You can remove a group by clicking on the “Remove” button. You will then be asked to confirm. The users belonging to the group will not be deleted, just the group.
See detailed information¶
If you want to see more detailed information about a user, group, or project, click on the information icon.
This will bring up a dialog where you can see metadata such as creator, date of last modification, URI for the resource, etc. Read more about on the detailed information page.
